Many times in my
Christian race, I’ve lost strength weeping behind closed doors about how poorly
I’ve walked with God. So imperfect that I would stand today and fall headlong
the next day. I fasted many times to correct my mistakes and have distanced
myself from God many times feeling unworthy of such a Holy one. I lost my self-esteem
many times because I thought 'I can’t continue with this life being unstable'. These
are a few of the battles I fought in my mind.
But then a beam of hope
flooded my heart the day I caught a revelation of Luke 22:31-32. That day I was just having my quiet time as usual
and “WHACK!” I just got it. All these while I’ve been walking not knowing that
Jesus had already invested so much in prayers for me (Jn. 17:9-26).
Jesus knew Peter might
fall at that time, so he prayed for him beforehand. Jesus was proactive in the
case of Peter. He was extraordinarily proactive in my case as well. Jesus
prayed for me too! Hallelujah! He prayed for me in the 17th verse of John 17 (with
reference to verse 20).
I believe in Jesus and He knew that at some time in my
life, I might fall and struggle with hope. So, just as He did in the case of Peter, He prayed
for me too.
He prayed for me; Ikpa
Onwuka!
He prayed for you too
who are in Him; In Christ!
We have faith that we will overcome because He prayed for us and we will continue to walk closely with Him.
So don't be discouraged if you fall. For if you truly and sincerely love Jesus and have Him in your heart and cry to him to save you, He will, and you will overcome.
Also we must learn to flee from all appearance of evil as we know the devil our adversary is very cunning and seeks our downfall even through those things we esteem very lightly.
“Being confident of
this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it
until the day of Jesus Christ”
(Phil. 1:6)
“I know how to be
abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed
both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do
all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”
(Phil. 4:12-13)
SHALOM!
Ikpa Onwuka...
