UNDERSTANDING YOUR SEASON

 In the world today there are different time zones and seasons for everyone, but the reality is that though everybody has eyes, only very few can see. This is why people may actually be in their season but would not be aware to take advantage of it. Understanding your season is very important if you want to fulfill your God-given destiny. Before I go further, I would like to give the definition of the word “SEASON”. According to the oxford dictionary, the word season is defined as a part or period of a year when something particular happens. 

 In Nigeria for example, there are different seasons which include: the rainy season, dry season, etc. As a youth you need to understand the season you are in because the youthful age is a season of your life.

 

 The Youthful age is part of a season in one's life, the youthful age is a season of your life that is full of activities, but some youths of this generation have failed to see that being a youth is a time of their life filled with many activities. The season of your being a youth is meant for so many things which include these stated below:

First, as a youth you need to understand that this is your season to study. As a youth your brain has the capacity to accumulate a lot of things, so the youth has a time to study anything worth studying. According to 1Timothy 2:15, Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy to study, as he was still a youth and  had the time and capacity to learn as much as he would need in the ministry. 

Also, you need to understand that your youthful age is a season to make choices, not just any choice but choices that affect your world. So the youthful age is a season to make choices that will bring about a solution, according to Deuteronomy 30:19, and also now is the time to make the decision to make heaven.  

In addition, you need to understand that the youthful age is a time to win souls. As a youth you are in perfect shape to win souls into God’s kingdom, the best time to do this is when you are a youth because your bones are strong and according to Prov. 11:30, winning souls for the kingdom makes you a wise youth. Also you need to understand that the youthful age is a time to shine. According to Isa. 60:1, the best time to shine forth or manifest God's glory is when you are a youth. The youthful age is a time to explore. 

In conclusion, being a youth is a privilege and you need to understand that the youthful age is a season to make a change.

MY HIGH PLACES

I was at a client's office on Monday, waiting to meet with them when my mind wandered through many past occurrences and rested a little on the day Daddy G.O.; The General Overseer of RCCG came to dedicate our provincial youth headquarters; City Of David Mega Parish (Ogun Province 8). Then I thought, what if I were opportune to stand and walk with him on that day, I would just confess to him and say “Daddy, I’m so glad and privileged to be by your side, you can’t imagine how long I wished and waited for this!”…As I was fantasizing on this, the Holy Spirit immediately interfered, giving me the answer Daddy G.O. would possibly reply me with if I told him…. “You should not be happy you’re standing by me if you have not achieved standing by God and walking with the Holy Spirit in obedience”. And this put me back on track as I was reminded of the fact that I should seek to walk closely with God and Himself would lift me up from where I am and he will make me walk upon my high places.

Talking about “Walking upon my High Places”, it just reminds me to invite you all to our revival services beginning this Thursday 11^th through Sunday 14^th February 2016 (5:30pm daily and 8am on Sunday)…It's tagged “Walking upon my High Places” @ RCCG youth Church, Akeusola street, Kwara quarters, Ibafo, Ogun state…. HOPE IN LOVE

Hope in Love

I heard a song when I was growing up and loved it so much but with time I lost every access to it. Surprisingly I was at a wedding ceremony on Saturday 30^th 2016 when I heard the same song once more. You can’t imagine what beautiful memories it brought. It was sung by Sholla Allyson with title “Ife Bi Eji Owuro” being interpreted “Love like the Waking of the Morning”.

 

When you wake up in the morning, you’re filled with hope and expectations, with so much strength and morale to pursue your dreams for that day. That is exactly how true love could be, it has surges of strength, hope and expectations, it could drive you to accomplish the impossible, it could make you travel through tribes and tongues, cities and nations. There is always hope in true love.

Meditating on this, I realised that that is exactly what keeps God’s love for us aflame. His love towards us is filled with hope and expectations just like the waking of the morning. That’s why he is always waiting even for the ‘worst’ sinner to repent. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise...but is longsuffering…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2Pet. 3:9). He gave his only begotten Son to die for us just because of the love he has for us… Love is truly like the waking of the morning. When you experience God’s love, it’s as if you’ve just woken up into another life, it’s an unforgettable experience. God’s love is revealed to us every day, but we are often too busy to see him. We prefer the cares of this world to his company, but it grieves him a lot. He wants to dwell with you, but you’re so busy. He has you engrafted in his palm, just to see you every moment but you leave every morning for your daily pursuits oblivious of his presence.

In all this however, like the waking of the morning his love still abounds.

Well, let us never trample on God’s love for us… And also don’t trample on the love of your neighbours, friends, spouses and family.

WORSHIP

I learnt something about worship which I would love to share with you here.

Worship is an act of reverencing God our creator and Father through various means. It could be through songs, prayers, dedication, commitment and many others.

We must note that there is a worship which the father accepts:

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH”

(John 4:23-24)

True worshipers worship the father IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.

WRONG WORSHIPS

There are however ways we should not worship:

Will Worship

“Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world are you subject to ordinances,

(Touch not; taste not; handle not;

Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

(Colossians 2:20-23)

Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence. (Verse 23; NIV)

This is worship not from the heart, but out of compulsion, out of pressure or eye service. Will-worship; you worship when you feel like it, when you think you’ll gain from worship. This is not right.

Vain Worship

“Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

(Matthew 15:7-9)

Vain worship is another wrong form of worship prevalent. When you lift up your hands in church but your heart is not lifted too, you’re rendering vain worship. When you come to worship God and you’re still keeping malice with that friend or relation of yours, that’s vain worship.

Ignorant Worship

“For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.”

(Acts 17:23)

If you worship whom you don’t know, you’re wasting your time. Before your worship is accepted, you must give your life genuinely to Christ, you must be saved. He must have your name in his book.

Well, how have you been worshiping God? Have you been doing it in Spirit and truth or in error? It’s time to come back to the right worship so we don’t struggle!
